Feats and Abilities

  • Darkvision: 60 feet range

  • Thick Hide: +1 base AC

  • Light Sensitivity: Urag are dazzled in bright sunlight or within the radius of a Daylight spell (-1 on all attacks)

  • Speed: Urag are proficient runners. An Urag's base land speed is 40 feet.

  • Trapfinding: Can use the Search skill to locate traps when the task has a Difficulty Class higher than 20.

  • Two-Weapon Fighting: You can fight with a weapon in each hand. You can make one extra attack each round with the second weapon.

  • Power Attack: On your action, before making attack rolls for a round, you may choose to subtract a number from all melee attack rolls and add the same number to all melee damage rolls. This number may not exceed your base attack bonus. The penalty on attacks and bonus on damage apply until your next turn.

  • Cleave and Great Cleave: If you deal a creature enough damage to make it drop (typically by dropping it to below 0 hit points or killing it), you get an immediate, extra melee attack against another creature within reach. You cannot take a 5-foot step before making this extra attack. The extra attack is with the same weapon and at the same bonus as the attack that dropped the previous creature. You can use this ability as many times as you like in a round.

  • Evasion: At 2nd level and higher, a rogue can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If he makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, he instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless rogue does not gain the benefit of evasion.

  • Trap Sense: At 3rd level, a rogue gains an intuitive sense that alerts him to danger from traps, giving his a +1 bonus on Reflex saves made to avoid traps and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against attacks made by traps.

  • Weapon Specialization and Focus (Rapier): +1 to hit, +2 damage with rapiers

  • Uncanny Dodge: Starting at 4th level, a rogue can react to danger before his senses would normally allow his to do so. He retains his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if he is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, he still loses his Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.

Description

A barrel-chested Urag, Baj stands 6' 7" tall, weighs about 280 pounds, and has a deep green skin tone with dark brown eyes.

History

Baj's mother was taken by Molossan slavers in her early teens. She had no outward signs that she was with child and did not even know herself. After her sale to a noble house in Port Kalida as a kitchen wench, her condition became apparent. The master of the household considered it a bargain to have gotten two slaves for the price of one and ordered that the child be raised alongside all the other servant children.

Baj grew quickly and was made a serving boy at age 4. Exposed to the cream of Sarrik society, he learned courtly manners and the behavior of Reith nobility. When he was only 10, he became companion and whipping boy for the eldest son of the house, spending his days in classes beside his young master. Fencing lessons, riding lessons, training in table manners and conversational etiquette, all the knowledge needed by a future Sarrik noble. At age 14, Baj accompanied his young master on a trip abroad. The ship in which they traveled was taken by pirates. The young boy was ransomed back to his family and Baj was freed.

Knowing that he would be shunned by Urag society and unable to free his mother, he joined up with Captain Tyree and the pirate crew of the Reckoning. He has been aboard for 5 years and has proven himself more than capable in every position he has filled, rising quickly to the position of Boatswain and Second Mate of the ship. He is an oddity among the crew, even more so to the rough-and-tumble Urag among them; an educated and reserved man, not given to the overt displays of temper and rowdy behavior that are common to the average pirate of the Crimson Coast.
