Republic
of Equatorial Bugunda
Conveniently located in
central sub-Saharan Africa, Bugunda sits atop some of the world's largest
oil, uranium and dyspepsium reserves. Despite all that, it manages to
remain a poor country, usually because its government changes yearly
as the current President-for-Life is deposed, flees to Switzerland,
and is replaced by the next President-for-Life. This springtime ritual
is enjoyed by all Bugundans.
Bugunda is also famed
for its large, somewhat careless contingent of diplomats, which is kidnapped
on a regular basis by supervillains.
The Bugundan flag is commonly
misunderstood by Westerners to depict a rooster playing some kind of
electric guitar. However, Bugundans will take pains to explain that,
in fact, this is just a bit of Western foolishness, like blue jeans
and Chinese food. The "rooster" is actually a Bugundan native
bird, playing a Bugundan national instrument. And anyone who disagrees
is looking for trouble.
