When his friend, the superhero Stingray, was killed by Azrael, he took over wearing the Stingray battle armor to avenge his murder and joined the Watchstar West team. After Azrael was brought to justice, Wes went back to his show.
According to one account, Wes Miles is actually a fire demon from another planet or dimension or something. Although this has been explained as a dream or a hologram simulation, rumors persist.
