Power Man
Real Name: Allan Gordon
Background: To him they were called the Benefactors, but they were the Karnak Imperium. They meddled in his genetic structure, giving him superhuman abilities and enabling him to help his country in World War II as part of the Victory Squadron. He could fly, move mountains with his bare hands, and no Earthly weapon could harm him. And he would never age. But the Karnak did it for their own reasons, and he only found out later how evil can appear to be good.
This execution of his brother, Isotope Man, by a former enemy, with the approval of the US government, led to the disillusionment of Power Man with America and Earth in general, and was a leading factor in his decision to abandon Earth and explore the stars.
After the war, accused of disloyalty by an ungrateful nation, he pursued his first love--the stars. He departed Earth on his own power. The galaxy accepted him as one of their own, and he has taken his place in the ranks of galactic heroes.
