Real Name: Justin Blaylock

Background: Justin Blaylock, a security guard at the Nova Institute, was nearly killed when an experimental black hole generator, the Vortexion, went awry. Although he saved many lives with his prompt, heroic actions, he was critically injured and spent months in a coma.

The accident brought out Justin's latent parahuman powers and he gained control over gravitational energy. Taking the name Vortex, became a mercenary superhero, solving crimes, troubleshooting, and protecting people as a hero for hire.

Forming Vortex Investigations, he partnered with Darlene Colt . The two had many adventures together before marrying. However, their marriage did not withstand the pressures of the superhero life.

Status: Active

Powers: Vortex's powers spring from the black hole that he was exposed to. He can create energy vortices, projecting gravity waves from his body to create blasts and force fields.

Skills: Vortex is a skilled driver and can ride or drive just about anything. He also enjoys tinkering with fast cars to get them to go faster.
