Real Name: Carolyn Barnes

Background: Carolyn Barnes was the younger sister of Melissa Barnes, also known as Jade. Carolyn was taken over by a hostile alien mindcrystal, an enemy of the one that fused with her sister. The Topaz crystal forced Carolyn to battle her sister against her will. Topaz became a powerful supervillain and was associated with the Hellrazers for a time. Occasionally, Carolyn's gentle personality would re-assert itself.

In a climactic battle, to free herself of the mind crystal, Topaz forced Jade to kill her by throwing her into the sun. Topaz was presumed destroyed.

Status: Unknown

Powers: Like her sister, Topaz could direct and control cosmic energy. She was superhumanly strong and tough, could fly, and see through solid objects.

Skills: Before she was taken over by the alien crystal, Carolyn was a medical student who was just about to become a practicing physician.
